What does this mean for a brand?

Smart brands will understand that being transparent, authentic, and even vulnerable is smart marketing in 2021. Users nowadays are becoming aware of social issues and want to connect with humans more than entities.

Growing focus on political, environmental, and social issues throughout the year means increased social media conversations about the issues close to your customers’ hearts.

Organic Instagram visibility with Keywords

Instagram is one platform that was hyperactive in 2020. From rolling out new features to algorithm changes, Instagram has evolved many folds. In November 2020, it was officially announced that Instagram will become more search-friendly.

Earlier, to search for anything on Instagram you needed a hashtag; but now without the use of hashtags, if you search for a keyword in the search bar, relevant videos, profiles, and posts will show up.

This will be a game-changer as it would provide a lot of reach and opportunities for the brands and the users.

Consumption of Short-Form Videos on the rise

As the social media attention span continues to shrink, people want to consume short and snackable content on the platforms.

With the rise of Instagram Reels this year, users spend most of their time scrolling through the highly addictive, short-form, value-packed content.

So brands need to reach the users where the users are.

So brands will focus more on short-form video content to educate the customers about their brands.

Facebook ads become less static

Facebook has once again seen a year of many challenges and has once again come through them in a stronger position than where it began.

For social media marketers, Facebook has been one of the best platforms for advertising. and in 2021 Advertising through Facebook will see more ingenuity than ever before.

Rather than focusing on static ads, advertisers will now experiment with:- GIFs, collages, and user-generated content.

Also, now that Facebook has removed the 20% rule from its platform (though this is an unspoken rule removal; there’s been nothing official from Facebook itself), you see more advertisers playing with larger, bolder text ads.

Social media channel double as a Shopping platform

eCommerce will be a major focus for Facebook in the next year.

We’ve already seen the first stages of Facebook’s next big revenue push, with the introduction of shops on Instagram and Facebook.

With their two social media platforms tapping into shopping, the trend will follow.

That will give every business the chance to quickly build their digital storefront, with helpful, familiar presentation options and streamlined payment tools, fueling a new wave of online business.

Even Youtube is venturing into Shopping, and brands will be able to create catalogs and stores with help of videos.

Users will embrace VR

With Facebook’s company, Oculus, launching new VR products, Twitch continuing to expand online game-streaming capabilities, and platforms like Snapchat launching mini-game apps, it’s clear that VR and social media will work together.

it also opens up new avenues for advertising and promotion, and leads more consumers into the next stage of digital connection, meeting up within fully immersive environments online.

Social media Marketing Evolving in 2021 and all the major platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Linked in introducing new features Social media trends and tactics are bound to change.

However, if brands tap into trends mentioned here then they are in for the long haul.
